Yoga in Daily Life Sunshine Coast was invited to present a taste of yoga and meditation to the lovely nurses at the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital (not to be confused with the Sunshine Coast University Hospital). Linda had arranged an in-house training and reward day for all the hard working nurses, with the theme of health & wellbeing.
After a nutritious morning tea Yamuna gave a brief introduction to the benefits of yoga and meditation and how it can be used to relieve tension and stress. I then led the participants through some simple yoga postures focusing on the neck, shoulders and back to prepare them for a lovely relaxation and short meditation.
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting these kind hearted nurses who were very grateful to get some tips on how to reconnect with the breath to reduce stress and they could instantly feel the benefits.
Linda had also organised an in-house raffle of which the proceeds were donated to the Rainwater Harvesting Project of Yoga in Daily Life International. We also received a beautiful bunch of flowers as a thank you and look forward to seeing some of them at the yoga centre soon.
